We are now in the Carolina Theater. Thanks to a fantastic crew — both Savoyards’ volunteers and Carolina Theater staff — for an excellent load-in.
The set is in, the lights are almost done and we have now had one solid rehearsal on the stage. I think we’re in excellent shape. If we can keep the current focus and energy up; fix all the minor problems; and attract a good eager audience — we’ll have a stunning opening night and a wonderful run.
Tonight we started out by cleaning up some spacing and changing a few entrances and exits to better fit the space. Then we did a full run-through, complete with flying drops and scenic elements.
I’m meeting Jennifer, our ligthing designer, to talk through the cues tomorrow afternoon — and then we’ll add in costumes and make-up for tomorrw night’s rehearsal. It just keeps getting better and better.
