On the Sidelines

Tonight we staged "When Our Gallant Norman Foes" with Carruthers, the Yeomen Chorus, Wilfred and Phoebe.  We worked on grand gesture and taking up space; as well as precision, unity of movement and hitting cues (i.e. doing exactly the right thing at exactly the right time — and with confidence).  Wilfred and Phoebe were exceptionally good on the sidelines.

Also on the sidelines… During a short break, Donna and I took a moment to confirm our props list for the production.  So far we need four brooms, four buckets, four sponges, four dust cloths, a small bag of money, a flower, a tablet (with writing instrument), a handkerchief, a dispatch, twelve halberts, and a giant key.  Every year I ask for dancing ponies but, once again, I don’t think that’s going to happen.
