Happy Family

We had a lovely rehearsal tonight. Not perfect, by any means; but lovely. We ran almost all the musical numbers in rapid succession, to get an idea of where we need to place our focus during the next two weeks. It may sound odd, but I’m happy to report that our biggest challenge is to wed the movements to the music. This is a happy thing because both the movements and the music are independently in good shape. But we’ve been rehearsing them separately — or placing focus on one and not the other — for so long that they are seeming just a wee bit uncomfortable together. Tomorrow we will begin the process of fostering what we have now dubbed the "Happy Family" of movement and music.
