Yes! Yes! Yes!

On this beautiful Sunday afternoon, we gathered in the basement of the Durham Arts Council for a three-hour rehearsal.  During that time we staged “When Anger Spreads His Wing,”  “This Helmet I Suppose” and “This is Our Duty Plain;” as well as the scene which falls between these songs.

This section brings the entire cast onstage — and that’s a lot of people.  While it’s easy to just stand and sing, we were able to get some movement into the mix.  The highlight, of course, is the fight between Hilarion/Cyril/Florian and Arac/Guron/Scynthius.  It’s a fun sequence, with a good deal of humor.  And it’s now twice as long!  Alan found a little-known second verse to “This is Our Duty Plain” which seems to have been cut in early productions.  So we’ve put it back in and gotten twice the bang for our buck!
