Divide and Conquer

Tonight we staged the Act II Finale, and it was all we could do to get it done in our allotted two hours.  There are 32 actors (not the entire cast) involved and, once again, that’s a lot of bodies to move around in pleasing formations.

We worked in shifts, focusing on one segment of the chorus at a time, and kept the principals up to date as we made our way through the number.  Then we brought everyone back together and barely had time left for one full-group run-through of the piece.

That’s over twelve minutes of music staged in two hours.  Not bad. However, this was the first time we had absolutely zero time left for reviewing material, so I hope everyone took accurate notes.
