We staged two songs at last night’s rehearsal.
In the first, a character elaborates on the unpalatable “secret sign” a group of revolutionists must repeatedly give before discussing their plot to overthrow a hated despot.
In the second, another character speculates that if he can manage a theatrical company he can certainly manage a monarchy. He then details the inexperience, infighting, bribery, nepotism, and vanity that is found behind the scenes (and on the stage) in both theater and politics.
Marching, Tap Dancing, and Soft Shoe seemed like appropriate choreographic choices.
Oh! And I’ve now added “vomit-inspired choreography” to my resume!
