All in the Timing

It was a busy night.  The evening started with a production meeting with the design and technical team.  After months of individual discussions and lots of homework, we had a forum in which presentations were made, issues were raised, questions were posed, styles and color-themes were refined, and a collective vision became more solidified.  It is very important to get the designers and the builders into one room and to make sure everyone is on the same page. I think we’re well on our way to another visually stunning production.

Then I had my first staging rehearsal with the full on-stage cast.  Act I is now pretty much blocked (choreography is still to come). Working out traffic patterns was a big part of the evening.  We also started work on group dynamics, control of focus, timing, and ensemble acting — these will continue to be important themes on which to concentrate.
